Hi, how do you keep the mint fresh? My mint leaves last only 1 week. I buy them in a bunch, put them in a plastic bag and keep in the fridge. It just stays fresh for 1 week and after that it starts to become black.

hi,

what i do is roll them in paper towels and put in a ziplock bag and it manages to be fresh for more than a week.i have seen sum people doing the same and keeping it in freezer.that too helps.recently on food televisison i saw that the cook advised that if we wanna keep our herbs fresh for long thne we can keep then half emersed in water in a glass just like flowers at room temperature.according to the cook this helps to keep it for weeks fresher n green.

yes, i agree. keeping sprigs of mint in water will not only keep it fresh, but allow it to grow. they start rooting w/in a week or 10 days and you can either leave them in the glass or vase or transplant them into the ground or in a little pot of dirt.
