Hi moms,

Have you registered your first born for sibling class? have anyone tried that and found useful? In my son' s school they have given big brother books to read it seems and he is repeatedly telling me abt helping mommy!!(dunno how really he will behave later though!!) i feel he will enjoy sibling class.....any thoughts?

thanks in advance,
Jichi

Hi girls,

Thankyou for your inputs.....

Anita, i am planning to enroll him just to get an experience - of what they tell these kids abt new sibling....i hope he will enjoy the class.

Sheetal, i got few books to read and since he can read that by himself, he was happy....but was lil bit sad that i will be in the hospital for a day or two ( And he is already saying that the toys he uses is not recommended for babies under 3 yrs....(you know they put a no for 0-3 right?) esp his blocks and other stuff. i hope he continues with the same attitude.

And to my luck, 3 of my friends delivered babies recently and another friend' s edd is aug end. so, he is familiar with newborn - how small the baby looks etc. lets c.

Let me know how they go for him. Also stay with him while the class is going on and ask him about the class and what he learned. What is it he most liked in the class. So that you will know how is going to act with the baby.

Now my daughter is saying about how to play around baby. And yesterday it was a big surprise for me, that my daughter was saying " Mom we cann´ t hug baby, or kiss, pull, steping or sitting on baby´ s tummy. We need to be soft and just touch her cheeks that set" . This I guess she got it from her school. Coz now a days I am sending books to school, so that her teach reads and gives more information what she know about babies. Try my best to keep things in order at home :)

Any way don´ t worry. Keep discuss with your son in a way that he is not feeling bore about babies (I mean not to bother with the same topic again and again).

Take care

Anita

Hi Jichi,

I enrolled my daughter for sibling classes (on May 31). She really enjoyed. Before these classes I read some books for her and I was keep talking about what she can expect later after baby comes. But still these classes gave a diffrent information to my daughter, which I really didn' t expect though.

Information they provided was

1. Showed some videos about what kind of toys and things a sibling need to keep away from the baby.
2. Guests will come to see the baby and bring some gifts for baby, but sibling only will get a chance to open....how excited is it...just to make them feel happy...not to feel jelous.
3. What kind of help mom may need from a sibling....like help your mom to bring daiper, wipes
and some more (don' t remember at this time :) )
Last but not the least. They made my daughter do some craft work for new baby. My daughter was really excited to share them with her sister. Now everyday she asks me when is sister is going to come, I want to give these to her. :)))
Any way overall I felt it is really helpfull.

Anita

Hi Jichi, at first i thought i will put my girl for a sibling class, but now, i don' t think so. I have been reading similar books to her. I don' t know, i guess i hve got too lazy now to do anything. My friend just got a baby, and i took her to see the baby. ANd i kept talking abt wat the baby does and stuff like that.
