To increase milk supply do have goondh ke laddu. The ingredients are Goondh (dink) , dried dates, dried coconut, almonds, poppy seeds and jaggery or sugar. If you cannot prepare or get these laddoos , you can have some or all these things in your daily diet.
The most important is fenugreek seeds, you can have these seeds the way you like(soak it in water or add in curry), even try having fenugreek green vegetable.
I am not sure if garlic helps in breastmilk supply, but I have heard from many experienced people that garlic, onion, Besan (gram flour), Maida (Refined wheat flour), chhole, Rajama , potatoes, cabbage and spices create lots of gases.
I personally feel you should have little bit of onion and garlic rather than completely avoiding it. And have lots of Sauff and Ajwayeen after meals to avoid gases.
