We are TTC since 3 months. I got a HSG done in Dec' 06 which revealed one tube is patent while one is not - I am 26 year old and yearning to get pregnant. There is also a 1 1/2 cm fibroid in my Uterus - but Gyno has said it looks pretty routine and I needn' t bother about it. I am however not sure should I take a second opinion - as this would prove a hurdle in implantation? Although I read in some articles online that only if its a bit larger one need' s to worry as more often smaller polyps or fibroids dont pose as much a threat - I am confused :(

My period has been slightly irregular - 40 days apart for last 4 months - but it dropped to 30 days again last month - now again the 30 days count has exceeded. I am a bit antsy with this cos I dont even know if I am ovulating - Is it necessary that every month we ovulate if we get our period?

Please advise...

Progress so far

Hey guys,

Gyno has ordered me another Ultra sound - 3 dimensional one because the fibroid is very small but sub mucousal - so she wants to knw if its penetrating into the Uterus or not - fibroid is in the uterine cavity though!

She has ordered me Day 3 LSH test as well so thats wht will be done over the next one month...

Hi Mrinalini,

I am sorry, my knowledge on the problem you are facing is Zero. Hence, I am learning it from the ladies who are knowledgeable. I haven' t come across or faced these medical conditions and hence do not know.

Its always better to take second opinion, if required 3rd too.

I pray your wish will be granted soon.

Hi Mrinalini

It' s not necessary that one is ovulating if she is getting her period.

The eggs are produced in the ovaries and released in the middle of a cycle. However, there are several factors that prevent the releasing of the egg which can be PCOS, poor egg quality, etc...

If you are having irregular cycles it could mean some hormonal imbalance. I have a cycle that varies between 30-45 days. I got a hormone profile done in my blood test and it showed a slight imbalance. So i am on medication. In your case i think you should ask your doc if there is a chance of having PCOS.

I don' t know much about polyps and fibroids and whether that affects the cycle. I guess you should seek a 2nd opinion for that.
