Due Date Club February 2005:Severe Cold and Cough!

Name: Niti I have been having cold and cough, courtesy sudden change in the weather in Delhi, for last 10 days. It becomes severe in last 2/ 3 days. It started with a fever and my OB/Gyn suggested me to take Crocin tablet then. Somehow, I could get rid of the fever without taking any medicine, but the it left behind the running nose and cough. I have been taking vicks vapor, steam, legs-dipped-in-hot-water etc… but nothing seems to be helpful. What should I do? I heard medicine for cold and cough is not good for the baby inside as they are mostly alcohol based. Please suggest!!

Also let me know, if the baby inside is anyway going to be effected, God forbids! Should I consult the OB/Gyn?

I was suffering from the same a couple of weeks back. All i did was took hot milk with a pinch of turmeric and little pepper. I took 2-3 glasses per day. cold went in 3 days. I didnt not take any tablets.

i had this problem some time ago and i went to my doctor who told me that i can have cold and flu tablets.. the only affect it wil have it that it normally makes your BP go up... so if you suffer from high BP then dont take it.. but i am suffereing from Low BP so my doctor said you can have them as it will just make your BP go up ... that is all... but you must consult your doctor as melbourne might have different composition of cold and flu tablets then india... good luck and HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON! AS I KNOW COLD CAN RELALY MAKE YOU FEEL BAD...

Some drugs makes you lil drowsy but does not harm the baby. Also, continue your homeremedies you are doing now and try to chew a piece of ginger to get releif from itchy throat and cold related symptoms. Drink only warm water.

KK hospital i find is the best in singapore also cheap
It depends where u stay actually
If u are on the west coast then KK wont be far else if u stay near jurong there are many hosp for kids there
