Have you heard of holistic learning? Do you think this method is better than traditional rote learning? Would you allow your child to customise his study methods?

Subject:  Knowledge Sharing Methodology

Over the years, man has taught himself to store knowledge to achieve power. Today, we have to reverse the tendency. Today, the most powerful individuals will be those who become a source of knowledge by sharing what they have, or what they can get their hands on, with others

Subject:  How much study?

The one thing I do not understand about this method is how are you supposed to know how much your child has understood. If he is just allowed to choose what he wants, how will you know if he is really studying? With all these doubts, I do not see this as a foolproof study method.

Subject:  It could work

I was very impressed by this article. The way it is written, this method seems so simple. I agree that children are already exposed to this method, right from the time they are in playschool. Then, it suddenly changes when they enter into primary school. This method should be continued even at that stage

Subject:  Education system

I do not know how much this system will work here. In our education system, the child is forced to memorise his studies even if he cannot do so or does not want to. Besides, the portion is so much that he will have no time to sit and try out these methods of learning. First we need to change the way a syllabus is framed.

RE:Reading Newspapers
How old is your kid as it depends on the age of the child and one cannot force a five year old to read the newspaper so if your child is above ten years then yes you should ask him or her to read the newspaper daily.... - Aditi [View Message]
