Good Schools in Chennai/Madras - Nurseries and Schools Discussion Forum

Hi,
We currently live in US and are planning to come back to Chennai, India in 2005.

My son is neary 2-3/4 years old now D.O.B 3/10/2001.

Can somebody give me information on good schools in Mylapore, Adayar, Velachery, Thiruvanmayur, Tidal, Anna Nagar, T-Nagar, Velachery, or in good area.

I'm looking for schools that keep away from rote learning and encourage children to learn, explore in a natural and paly way method instead of doping informationon their curious li'l minds/brains.

If anybody could let me know of this, it would be of great help to me.

CBSE - PSBB(T.Nagar and KK Nagar), DAV(Gopalapuram), Vidya Mandir(Adyar), PS Senior(Mandeveli) are some of the god schools - my ranking in that order. PSBB in fact has US-style examination system u[pto 7th.
Let me know if u r looking for any specific area alone...

CBSE Schools in Adayar?

Dear Readers,
We live in Singapore and are coming back to India by Oct’04. My daughters would have completed Primary 6 [I heard it is equivalent to India’s 7th Standard] by then. I would appreciate your advise on the followings:

1. Good Schools [Preferably Girls’ school] with CBSE syllabus in Adayar. Please provide contact details.
2. Could they get admitted in 8th standard [as I heard it is common practice that overseas-returnees get admitted in such manner as the standards differ]?
3. By when shall we apply to schools, if they were to get admitted in this academic year?

we're planning to put my son in ukg on 2005. We like CBSC/ICSE only. We're preferably looking the area South Chennai (Mylapore, Mandavelli, Adyar, Thiruvanmiyr, Kodambakkam, Gopalapuram )

In this case how soon we have to act to get admission in schools? What would be the procedure to approach schools?
what would be the approximate fees range in schools? What would be the approximate donation range?
