Dear friends

Please give me good suggestion.
I have 18 months son.
Now again i am pregnant. I dont want this baby. I think i face financial problem. My husband is a post doc in an University,USA. I plannned to go for job. But now i became pregnant. I really feel bad .. i dont know what to do?

Can somebody pls tell me how much it cost for a child to do his elementary,middle and high school in USA??

This will really help me. Eagerly expecting replies.

I feel one child is good. is that a good idea?

Please consider and let me know. I am unable to have a child of my own, and we very much want a child to care for and love.

Do please think about it. We are ready to bear the expenses for your pregnancy, etc.

Kavita S replied. Think about it.. ur husband is doing your post doc right now. You think he is going to continue it forever? It is most likely that he would land up a high paying job after this. The kids' college is so far away. Why do you worry about that now? If that' s the case, very few people in the US would be having more than one kid.

It is indeed sad and ironical that you are thinking of aborting your baby for financial reasons, especially when you are in the US, for most Indians in the US are financially the most successful bunch. If you decide to go ahead with it, you may have to live with it the rest of your life. College is still 17-18 years away, so don' t look too far into the future. Public schooling is free anyway. Make the best use of available resources.

Plus, you say your husband wants the baby badly. You may then have to live with not only your own guilt, but also your husband' s bitterness towards you because of this.

Whether to have another kid or not is entirely upto you and your husband so no one can help you with that one.
As far as public schools go they are free only for pre schools you may have to pay but it is not mandatory that your kid must attend preschool to get into KG in a public school. So you can even teach him alphabet etc at home before sending him to KG in public school.
It is college that is awfully expensive here and that is what parents save for right from the time they have a kid here in USA. But I guess that is really far away. If he is a post doc you do not know ehether you will live here or in India in the long run.
