Hi ,
My son is 3 months & 10 days. His weight is 15-16 pound. he was having a very regular sleep pattern like he would go to bed at 8 and feed and sleep.will wake up at 4 am feed and then at 7 am. then he would take every 2-3 hr one feed. he is exclusively on breastmilk.

Since 7-8 days he is been waking up in night evry 2 hr and takes a feed of 5 mints and sleep. This disturbs my sleep a lot. Doc said his weight and height gain is very good above average. why then he wakes up?
also he seems a restless these days in night.
what could be the reason....how to deal with this.
Experience mom please help me.

reasons firstly he might have growth spurts,which makes him hungry again and again it is quite normal.
secondly with growing changes are coming in his routine. richa replied. u also make sure ur baby burps after feedings.

There r 3 things for u to try...

1)Whenever ur baby gets up for the 1st time at night,finishes the 5 min feed,n slept,then change the diaper so the baby is awake again,nurse on another side then so the flow is more,after this if the baby sleeps its fine...at least he has taken a longer feed than usual

2)Secondly ur baby is not hungry but just has an urge of sucking...in this case,when he gets up tell ur hubby or a fly member to pat him back to sleep,U do not lift the baby or cuddle him...since he might want the breast.If this is the case then he is just using u as a pacifier.

3)Lastly if the baby gets up too often,mayb he is a lil uncomfortable,or just gets up without any reason,n dosent know how to sleep on his own,n a general tendency of moms....we think he is hungry.So if he gets up n cries,let him cry ,he shuld know how to go to bed on his own,If the crying becomes too intense after 15-20 mins tell someone else to pat him back to sleep.

Hope these ideas help u....but just figure out what is the reason...by tring it out for at least 1 week
