well i had to terminate my first pregnency because of medical reasons.this happened in sep' 06.after going with the autopsy of the child we came to know that the baby had trisomy 18 which is a chromosomal disorder and rare.now we are again planning for a child since feb but with no success.

the doctor has given me following pre conception medicines
folvite,becadexamine and COQ FORTE.
i want to knoww are these medicines alright.i really dont know why my baby had trisomy 18 but doctor said that survival chances would have been very less for the child.

Archie i want to know can i have a healthy baby again? do chromosomal abnormality reoccur?usually when there is a abnormality in baby miscarriages happen,but i terminated in second trimister because baby had fetal hypoxia.
Also does termination effect future pregnency?i had a vaginal delivery by inducing pain.Please answer my query.i have lots of anxiety.

The medicines you are having are vitamin tablets and nutritional supplements, all these are commonly recommended while TTC and also make up for any defficiency of the elements in your diet. 2 out of every 10 first time pregnancies end in miscarriages, so you needn' t really be concerned about having a healthy baby a second time. The most common reasons for miscarriage are also chromosomal abnormalities and just because this happened once, there' s nothing which says that the same will repeat again.

I know that losing a baby is emotionally devastation, so just make sure that you have recovered completely and are both physically and emotionally stable to start TTC again.Also, visit your doctor as soon as you discover you are pregnant so that they can monitor the foetal growth from the beginning next time.
