In this forum, I see most women face lots of issues (women in US and India) from their in-laws, husband doesnot allow talking to parents, husband hates wife parents, emotinally abuses wife and the list goes on.
Why does women stay in such relations. In this century where most of us are educated, independent what is the point in having such a husband, just to show the society?
I do agree, in a married life both should adjust and there should be some amount of tolerance.
But thers is difference between adjusting and submitting.
I am in same boat as others, my husband has tortured me a lot, now I am separated from him.
There are some people who feel, I should have stayed in the marriage as I have a small kid, but I could not live in fights on every topic.
Why cannot women leave their spouse ( even if you have kids, as what is the point of kid growing in a unpeaceful space)? what stops them?

I do agree wht u say I am in the same situation being emotinally and physically tortured by spouse of no valid reasons. You know after reading to some posts and seeing other women in this forum seperating from there spouses gives me lot of encouragement and I think many others too. Well if friends like me who are in India it becomes more and more difficult as relatves and in most cases prents still live in old school of marriage.As some of us wh are in USA/Canada it is difficult undoubtedly if u get little emotional but in terms of help ie 911 social orgs it is easier it is then left to the woman who just have to take the courage and take charge of her own life and rathe be docile and think abt her kid...first is her life ifs she is happy then a kid can be happy rather thn seeing her mother getting abused by her/his dad.
I do agree and i wud say after reading replies to my post I have gained and am getting firm day by day to leave him sooner than later.
