I was looking at admission details for Pre-Kg. My daughter is October born, and most of the schools have cut off as June born. I am left with very few schools. Personally, I would prefer a CBSE school, but not many options left other than PSBB, Brigade school, Presidency school, and probably Oxford school.
PSBB is really far off, Brigade is off my budget (75K admission and 36K tution fees), and Presidency is charging 50-55K per year as fees!
So I am in a dilemma and thinking of waiting for one more year before putting my kid in a school.

PS - I am not from Karnataka, and hence will not be able to teach Kannada. Hence looking for a school that will have a mixed crowd.

Appreciate any more feedback!

thanks,
Rashmi

I got through PSBB, infact liked the new campus in laxmipura. The only issue is - the new campus is way too far. Neighbours kid goes to the new campus - she is in 1st greade. She get really exhausted by the time she reaches home - otherwise they are ok with the school.
I stay in 2nd phase, close to ring road. The kindergarten section is 5-6 kms from my place and new campus is more than 10kms i think - not worth the travel.

KK,
Whats the donation at Aurobindo? Also, what was the age cut off?
I might go for admission to LKG next year and give it a skip this year.

I know of a colleague who sends her daughter to DPS south and the kid takes maths tutions from the department HOD on weekends. This appears to be a normal culture now of providing tutions to kids over the weekend!
A neighbour was unhappy with DPS - school culture wasnt that great. He shifted his son to Kumarans (5th grade).
Hope this info helps!

Aurobindo is done with its admission process. i paid donation last saturday for my son(for Pre-KG) there.

JSS - there is no PRE-KG. school starts from LKG.

You can check with Innisfree. but dont you feel 1 Lak is costly??

Any one please share info regarding

DPS or Aurobindo..which is better??

Where are you put up?

you can try out Carmel shcool in Padmanabha nagar. i think they have both CBSE and ICSE.
I had got a call for my son´ s admission there.
They had told
donation - 55K
and fee- 33K(approx)

since the last dates are over.. they may charge you a bit more for donation.

Oxford is also a good school as i heard

SSRVM in JP Nagar is a small campus and has only LKG and UKG. The main campus is near the ashram in kanakapura road. Hope this helps.

Hi Rashmi,

Iam not sure abt the SSRSVM fee structure. Clarence charges 60k as donation and 2,700 per month as fee.And KK had rightly put the SVM fee structure. Even clarence burdens a lot with home work. Both follow ICSE syllabus, But SVM is planning to start CBSE by 2011 ( not sure though)

For which class are you seeking admission?

Thanks
Priya

P.S SVM admission as far as i know is closed for 2009-2010.

Hi Rashmi,

I live in blr for the past 2 yrs only, but i did collect a few info on these schools!

1. SSRVM : from what i have heard is good, culturally inclined, but not sure abt the academic front, since its news i dont think we can talk abt it.

2. Clarence : Infrastructure good, follows ICSE, till 10th only. not very impressive principal. 40: 1 ratio. Lots of home work

3. SVM : Fav among kannada ppl. Culturally very good. principal is good. teaching staff is ok. Not mch pressure. If u spk kannada u will go for this school.

Hope this helps.
All the best
Priya.

donation is about 20K
fee is 12-18k per year..
