Due Date Club December 2007:Weight.......problems

Hi,
I am into the end of 14th week of my preganncy. Is weight gain very essential in the 1st three months of pregnancy??? I have actually lost 2 kgs though actually I am overweight before pregnancy itself. My doctor scared my nerves out stating that I will have to be hospitalised for this. I am regular nausea problem which has reduced now though not stopped completely...

Also I am facing a peculiar problem these days.. I am having too much of gas because of which I feel sometimes heaviness and slight pain in my stomach. Is it some kind of danger sign or anything...Pleazzzz help!!!!

Thanks in advance

Hi,
It is normal to loose weight during pg due to nausea & vomiting. Your doc I guess might be kidding with you on getting hospitalized for loosing weight, probably scaring you to eat healthy.

As for gas try taking TUMS ..I finished almost 2 bottles during my first pg. You can also have hajmola, limca (as someone on our board as their doc as she said it is safe), also lemon water with kalanamak(black salt)..ajwain is good but not sure if it is safe as it produces lot of heat.

I am also from Jan08 board and second time mom.

Take care
Daisy

Hi

Regarding gas, a simple solution is eat ajwain 5-6 times a day in little amount( less than half spoon). And try to avoid taking nap immediately after lunch. This really worked for me. I am taking ajwain since last 1 week and my gas problem is totally gone. Anyways, i am not from this board, i am from Jan2008 board.

Take care.
Jyoti

hi
My son also had the same problem his legs used to shiver my doc said it is due to calcium defieciency b.coz I was calcium deficient. She gave him a tonic for 2 mnths it cured after that. The reason why ur baby' s leg is shivering may be this. Plz contact ur doc and take necessary steps as soon as possible.... - Sahila Gupta [View Message]

Ravs, your ideas are out of date, since your sis is in NJ she should join a good prenatal class [Lamaze, Bradley etc] and get updated information, also her physician will guide her on diet and her self care please don' t give her advise based on the info in this mail of yours. Not to worry
If you want a normal delivery, ask your doc first to try vaginal delivery if not then go for forceps delivery where baby can taken out with the help of tongs...
