my baby girl is 2&1/2 months, she's been sleeping min 5-6 in the nites and sometimes straight thru' the nite for 8-9 hrs w/o getting up. The primary reason is that i don't let her sleep much in the day time, except after her massage for 1-2 hrs, that too only if required. Also i see to it that she's well fed in the nite, i wake her up even though she's sleeping so that she sleeps well on a full stomach and she sleeps better in her cradle then with me.
Even the doctors say that if your baby sleeps less in the day time, she'll sleep well in the nite.

Hi Medha,

My son is 1 yr. old now. I had the same problem when he was 6 months. Then the doctor advised me to completely stop the night feedings, and make sure that the baby's full before sleeping. It took me 1 week to get him accustomed to it and then he started sleeping the whole night.I think your daughter wakes up out of habit and not that she's hungry. So, try to avoid giving her milk
during the night. I'm sure she'll stop expecting it soon and sleep all thru the night. All the best.

as your daughter is now7 months she must be taking solids. make sure that her last meal before sleep is heavy and filling. try khichdi with ghee, dal rice, with vegetables, or dal chappati all mashed. also you could try to give her heavier milk.... in case of lactogen use 2 scoops instead of one per ounce. this will take more time to digest and help her sleep longer.

best of luck

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
