Shy Kids:Need help: Disciplining kids

My son one-and-half years, is very violent. He hits other children. As parents, his mother and I feel very embarassed whenever he does this. How can v teach him not to do it? V hv tried several things, but in vain. Please advice.

It is very normal for some children to behave in the manner as your son. You need to be gentle yet firm. It might be that he must be going thru lot of emotional insecurity. You need to assure him & express your love.At the same time you need to tell him that cannot behave in that manner.

Read him stories with lot of good morals and deeds, engage his attention in lot of constructive activities that he enjoys.

Do not loose patience, be understanding and do not resort to beating.

There are lot of professional help available , u can approach a psychatrists.

Children should learn to take `no at a very early age. That means every tantrum of theirs should not be tolerated. Of course, when to listen to them, and when not to is a matter of your discretion. I know it is difficult but not impossible.
