Medication Effect on Foetus:Wisdom tooth

Hi

I had my wisdom tooth extracted (3 of them) last week with local anaesthetic and based on dentist' advice had to take Tylenol with Codeine for pain.

I took only 3-4 of the tablets so far and managing with regular tylenolol.

I am worried about the baby if local anaesthetic and codeine will have any side effects.

Please share anything you know on this topic.

Thanks

Lavendar

hi,
the problems with the teeth occur to a lot of pregnant ladies , due to harmonal changes. i had problem with my 4 wisdom tooth, my gynec advised me to get them extracted before i was planning for a baby. my dentist and my gynec both repeatedly advised me that after conceiving , getting these kind of extractions done is not good.
especially because of the use of antibiotics.
this is the little info i had , which i wanted to share, may be this will be helpful to u.
bye

Hello,

I am sorry I don't have an answer for you but a question. What type of anesthesia were you given? I have to get a molar extracted (old root canal is acting up)? Was one type of anesthesia preferred over others due to your pregnancy?

Hope your pain has subsided. I am really upset that I have to get this done during pregnancy. I go for checkups regularly and it was never an issue until now.
