Hello everyone, just thot we wil lshare our biggest concern about going thru pregnancy ... weight gain!
Let us all share monthly weight gains that will help us analyise if everything is normal or a bit unusual is happening.
At 6th Week i had gained just a bit over a Kg than what was detected a the 3rd week. Dr. said gain shud be atleast 12 kgs, but with this rate i feel i may get overweight by the end .... what about u ladies?

hi Vidhi,
iam sorry for getting back so late as I was down with cold and flu. it was the most terrible cold i have ever got in my life. Still haven´ t recovered completely.
regarding you weight, three kgs by 7th week is too much, the plcenta is yet not formed and all that u r eating at the moment is not going to your baby but forming fat in your body. Yes dr. is right 6 small meals works better than 3 big ones but the key si to eat right food. if u r going to keep snacking no chocolates and donuts it is empty calories which is gonig to do nothing for the baby. Moreover u will gain too much at the excuse of being pregnant and later on once u have delivered u will have to work extremly hard to reduce.
May be u r feeling too hungry due to phsycologically, u r actually not but just hte thot that u r pregnant shud make u hungry and u shud keep eating is attracting u towards food.
No u shud not let ur baby starve, but opt for low fat alternatives, go for skimmed milk, low fat yoghurt and refain from snaking chocolates. Being in US u have great on the shelf options, opt for cereal bars and whloe grain bread instead of white ones.
I had realier mentionned that i gained a kg in the first month, but have redcued it again and noe my weight is back to pre pregnancy mode. I have lost my apetite completely. But now that we ladies have almost ended our first tirmister, it time to take care of our diet. eat healthy and nutritious coz placenta is in action and the baby is now feeding on food we consume.
Bon apetit!

hi dolly

my regular weight had been 57kgs for a long time. when i was 6 wks i had somehow lost 2kgs and was 55kgs.. in the past 4-5 wks i have put on 3kgs from there.. so now i weigh 58kgs, which is worrying me a little bit coz i am 11 wks and don' t know if this weight gain is going to be an issue.. i can completely understand your concern but think about the total 9 months and the fact that you may not put on too much weight throughout coz it will get distributed well through the remaining few months.. try and make sure you exercise i.e. go for a walk (after your doc allows you to) and eat more fiberous foods and less refined food.. do give in to junk food sometimes but make sure you discipline your food habits right from the start itself..
