My son is 7 years old.I had conssultant a doctor 3 yrs back and as per him Due to complications in pregnancy he has this speech problem. I have already given him speech therapy session from past 3 yrs. He has improved but still he does not speak clearly. He prefers to not speak when he is unable to express. I am really worried now. Doctor has had that now speech therapy sessions will not help and he will improve on his own. My son gets angry and throws tantrums when we ask him to exercise for speech sessions. he skips them a lot. Please suggest what can be done so that he improves in his speech. How can I be patient when he refuses to do exercise. How should I behave with him. maverick replied. dear pinky, even my son did not speak for almost 4 years. he used to get his speak through sign language whether it was food, water or his toys. we were really worried. we got the help of a child psychologist who advised us to get him admitted in school. we did that. my wife really worked hard on him for months. it was sort of question and answers. she wd ask questions and give answers. she used to continuously speak to him for hours. finally now he has shown considerable improvement. he has now started speaking sentences.

i guess may be u need to work harder on him. i know it is very tough but that will surely help.
