Nurseries and Schools:Right age for Nursery

My daughter is 1 year and 11 months old and am planing to put her in nursey, she is born in December 2006. i am a little confused about the right age of admitting a child to nursery. i have not put her in any play school. please advise urgently about the right age for nursery.

Hi Asha, Thanks for sharing. No doubt, our kid will be 2.6 yrs by Jun 2009 - but, are you planning to put her to Pre-KG for this academic year (2.6yrs) or next year (3.6 yrs)?

Today, I' ve got the admission for my son in PSBB. But, am in a dilemma to admit him there bcoz of distance. He has to travel 6.5 kms everyday and the 15 kms from 1 std onwards - which I am not convinced at. I feel its too young to travel from him in the school bus.

But, for the next academic year, both our kids will be elder by 8 months compared to the other kids in the class.

So, which stream are you planning? this is my dilemma now.

Friends, pls advise me on this.

I am admitting my child in a play school, she will be 2.6month in June2008. I will get an admission for her in Nursery only next academic year. Even though she might be a little elder that other kids, no worries, she will be able to cope up the pressure as the level of studies increases.

Hi Asha, even my kid is dec 2006 born. Did you manage to get any play schools for your daughter? Since most ofmthe schools admit the kids to pre KG at thr age of 3 (or 2 yr 10 months), I am planning to put him in a play-school from now till Jun 2009 and and parallely get an admission for pre-KG in a good school starting from Jul 2009. For this the admission opens in most of the schools by Nov 2009.

Share your plans as well as it might be helpful to me.

thanks for your reply. i am putting my daughter in playschool, since 2 year is too early for them for nursery, have not tried for admission play schoolyet, but i believe it should not be a problem getting admission in nursery since our children will be 2.6 months by june. keep posting, bye for now.
