The best way to wean is to eliminate the least needed feeding (I started with the one after my baby's first nap) and then to continue eliminating one more feeding a week. Leave the first thing in the morning and the one at night to last as these two seem to be the most comforting for babies. If your child is not used to a bottle, I would go straight to a sippy cup or cup and give breast milk in it until your child is used to sucking something different. Don't get rid of too many feedings at once, as it will be hard on your breasts and possibly painful.

I'm still in the process of weaning and my child now only has two feeds a day, the rest are formula.

The nighttime feed may be the hardest and when it's time to eliminate that one, I will have my husband give him his sippy cup. Might be something to try.
