i was a silent observer of this board for quite sometime now.really appreciate the great work ur doing!!!
i' m 26 years old. i' m TTC from past 3 months without success.i have never been to any preconception checkup or met a OB-GYN till now.but i' ve been taking folic acid capsules.
my question is whether is this the time to meet OB_gyn? since i havent succeeded for 3 months shld i visit the doctor? if not when is the time to visit doctor?shld i try for few more months without doctor' s help or visit doctor right away.is it normal for a 26 years old girl to fail for 3 months? plz help archie.i' m desperate, getting worried.thank u so much..... aisha replied. While it is true that it may take upto 1 year to conceive, I see no harm in visiting a ob-gyn. It is usually recommended to get a preconception checkup done while TTC. And believe me, its a very normal routine...they usually order some blood test, ask a few questions about your menstrual cycle and advise you accordingly. So I will recommend you to go ahead and set up an appointment with your gynec.

There are a few things that you can do while TTC:
1- watch your menstrual cycle...if it is regular...then fine. If it is not, see a doctor.
2- Start taking BBT. You can pinpoint your ovulation time and try during those days. This will increase your chances of conception.
3- Keep an eye on your cervical mucus. You see a lot of CM when you are ovulating and its consistency is like that of an egg white.
4- If you are in the US, buy an ovulation predictor kit. Try Clearblue...its very good.
5- Its good that you are taking folic acid. Keep taking it. Combine it with heathly food and exercise.
6- Do not have sex during luteal phase (days past ovulation) and do not take any tension during that time and no hard work either. Just relax.
7- Last but a very important point - DO NOT STRESS YOURSELF OVER THIS ISSUE. You are only 26 and have tried for only 3 months, so don' t loose any hopes. Trust me, dont treat this TTC as a mission...take it easy. The month you forget that you are trying for a baby, you' ll conceive :)!

Aisha pratheeksha replied. 3 months is not really long enough to decide the cause of not being able to conceive. It may take anything between 6 months to a year to become pregnant. It is advisable to visit the doctor only after atleast 6 months of trying, so you still have more time. Just take your mind off getting pregnant and things will happen easier.

Just remember that you have started trying at the right age and also that for every cycle there is only 20% chance of success, so keep your fingers crossed. Don' t forget to continue with your folic acid tabs and wish you success in your very next attempt.
