Hi friends .Hope you all are doing well.Well, i really am having a tough time controlling my emotions right now. Sometimes i am excited,positive and at times i am a nervous wreck. And to make matters worse i had a really terrifying experience at my OB visit. I had my 36th week check up.My doc did an internal (well tried to do, actually),but the pain was so horrible,i couldnt bear it. She could tell the head was down,but couldnt tell me wether i was dialated or not,since i was just crawling up the table in pain. And then she dropped the bomb saying i could go into labor anytime. I am just so scared and dissapointed. is it just me or did any of have a tough time during internals.

My Ob will do the internal again next week,and she hopes i will be relaxed by then.but i am petrified , i kep wondering how will i deliver the baby if i cant take the pain of the internals.

please do reply friends , some reassurance and motivation will definitely help.

Sorry to hear abt your experience. But don' t worry too much about it. Internal test is always painful. You just have to relax and keep faith in your doc. I had my second internal today and I felt that my doc put his hand too deep inside. But relaxing will help. Not sure if your doc said this but as experienced mom, want to tell you that after internal, you might even have a little bleeding also. Not to worry and you might feel pain in the abdomin. Once you go home, you need to take it easy and lie down.
Also, don' t think about delivery from now on. Take one step at a time. You wrote that your doc said you might go into labor at any time. Did she mean that baby is full term or did your cervix start dilating? In any case, don' t get scared. When I was pregnant with my son, my doc said I was 1cm dilated and anytime in 37th week. But my son came in 41st week (1week later than due date). I was same 1cm for 4weeks. So, don' t worry.
Even if you go into labor now, thank God for medicines like epidural. They will keep you comfortable and you won' t feel a thing. So, if you are planning to take epidural, tell your doc and nurse before hand.
For now, try to concentrate on how you are going to take care of you and the baby after delivery. Hope you have everything ready for the baby starting from diapers, bottles etc. Be ready with your hospital bag.
This all will be over soon and baby will be in your arms.
By the way, in which hopital you are going to deliver? I am going for JFK and already took hospital tour. If you haven' t yet, try to take that as soon as possible. It would really help to know where is what.
