hi archie & all,
i'm TTC from this month.3 days back my hubby got a mixed fruit juice & i was having it everyday from past 3 days for about 1/2 a cup a day.all of a sudden something struck me & i checked out the ingredients on that & saw that there was also a pineapple juice in that which was one of the main ingredients in that.now i'm very tensed as i've heard that pineapple causes abortions.plz help archie.am i in trouble now? can it cost me a lot? desperately waiting for ur reply archie replied. you are talking about Papain instead. Whether or not juice will have it will depend on quality of pineapple, if it's fully riped then less likely have papain in it.
Also mainly papain amounts in pineapple are scanty as compared to Papaya.
Otherwise also if fully riped both fruits are fair and good source of vitamin C during conception and pregnancy. You should be avoiding unripede form of these two fruits.

i would not worry on your fruit juice consumption because the enzyme is less likely be there in juice as its not as stable, clear from the fact the quantity of it reduced when fruit gets riped.

archie smily replied. dont worry,now u r ttc, so no prob,if u r pregnent then u avoid pineapple and papaya,bcoz these two items produce more heat.iam in my 3rd month of pregnency and in my first visit only my gynic told me to avoid these 2 fruits.dont feel tensed,this reduces chances of getting pregnency.be happy.

I don't know exactly that pine apple does do like that because i taken pine apple my whole pregnancy but my baby is good healthy.Nothing happend to me..
