I am in middle of a divorce. How do i tell my 3yr old abt it? He has never seen his dad. Aarti replied. Hi- if your child has never seen his dad, then it may be simpler, as u dont necessarily have to explain the meaning of divorce.He is already used to a life without a father. My daughter is also 3.5 and has never lived with her father, tho has seen him. I bought a book called 'Do i have a daddy' from the web which is a great book to introduce the concept of single parenting. And with kids like yours n mine- they r already familiar with the set up of having only one parent so they just take it in their stride. Mine didnt blink an eyelid when i told her that your dad n i dont live together.

i read your mail. i can understand it is very difficult to make a child understand about divorce.but continue talking to you kid about it. do not avoid the topic. tell him and show him that some kids do not have mothers or do not have a leg or hand or eyes . in the same way you do not have a father and god is every body's father. ask him to talk to god. he will understand !!!
