Vegetarian Food:To make soft rotis?

I stay in Uk and the atta we get here is partly having maida ,I think. the rotis turn out very rubbery. Any suggestions for making soft rotis from such attas? Also, what is difference bet chappati and roti?

hi roopa i also stay in uk and got proble with bad aata . did u ask in any indian shop abt pillisburry aattta. just ask for it, its the best aata same like indian atta. otr if u try elephant atta. u need to know hoe to prepare it.first take elephant aatta. and put oil in it and then put hot boiling water in it so u can make good atta . but dont forget to put hot boiling water and slowley mix it. this will solve ur prob.

Hi roopa...
You can add milk while making dough,i.e half water and half milk..you can try this.. you will get soft dough as well as it tastes good.you can make chapati's or roti..
