Due Date Club December 2005:Skin Rash

Hi Dec moms,

Sorry i have not been very regular on the message board. Im from Mumbai and was always on board but last 10 days i have been very busy. Just read all your messages today.

Had a query. Im very prone to skin rash, even before pregnancy. I develop this rash only in areas where the skin rubs against each other, especially inner thighs and below the bust. Skin gets red and ther eis a burning sensation. Normally i used to get it in summer due to excessive ehat and perspiration or when i walk too much. But nowadays it is more often after pregnancy. Can anyone suggest how to prevent or cure it?

Hi Rids,
I think u can apply moisturizer at the areas u got rash that might sooth u from that burning sensation. As the months passes your whole body changes and the skin stretches so its better to apply moisturizer on your body.
I got not rash but itchiness due to increase of the breast size after I started applying moisturizer I felt good.
Good luck.

Hi Rids,

This is very common for me too in Summer in India. I wear a short cotton pants inside any dress I wear which protects the rash from happening. Now during pregnancy you are gaining more weight and when your thighs rub each other you get this. So try applying lot of powder and wearning a soft cotton short pant till you knees always and this will protect you from getting the rash or making it more worse.

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
