I had the same problem.some time even though you think the baby is breast fed .please check whether you have milk in the breast,many time we think baby is drinking the milk but it doesnot happen so.since the baby gets the satisfaction of drinking even in sips.you can start giving solid foods with milk ask your doctor whether you cna give any supplement with breatmilk.giv eher multi vitamins.I hope my suggestion could be of some help bye take care vidhya replied. hi,
don worry...my daughter is 9 mths old n was 3.6 at birth.she is only 7.7 kgs though she is on solids.doc said she was v low in weight but she there was no need to worry as she is v active.some kids don put on weight but r active.actually the norm is that they should be double at 6 months n trible at 1 yr.but my doc says there is no such norm.each baby hs her own growth pattern.but if she is exclusively breast feed its high time thgat u start solids after consulting with ur doc.u can start givng her semi solids n then proceed too solids.u can give rice with moong dhal,mashed potatoes, carrots.fruits l;ike mashed apple, then banana, chiku etc.fruits n veggies r v importan t. u can also give her commercil foods like cerelac, nestum, first food, easum etc.ragi is also v good for health....anyways regd weight , double cjeck it with ur ped.

hope tthis helps, don worry she will pick up weight soon.after 6th month they gain only 300 to 400gms per month.so don worry as long as she is active.
