Hi All,

I have a question for all of you. I am in my 8th week now and I have been having severe morning sickness. It's a lot that I can hardly even sleep at night and eat. It's been also very tough at work. Most of the time, I am in the bathroom or sleeping on my desk. Is this too much? Should I call and consult my doc about this or is this normal?
Also, I don't feel like eating anything and have lots of mood swings. Please let me know if this is all normal. Because, I have couple friends with babies, never had this severe sickness.

even i am going thru a tough time with both morinig and eveing sickness. Digestion is a major problem and my throwing sessions last for 3-4 times in a day. i guess we have to cope up with all this.. and still try to eat as much as possible as it wld do good for the baby as well as u. Hope things go better with all of us as time passes. BTW i am also in the 8th week.. Happy seeing u ltr

I'm also in the same boat as you. I'm in my 10th week. I'm going crazy with morning sickness. Somedays I throw up about twice or thrice, and feel queasy thru out the day. Sometimes it is continous sickness morning and night. I also have difficulty feeling like eating and drinking.

When I was throwing up continously, I'd spoken to my doc. He said that it was ok as long as I was able to retain some fluid. Otherwise he would give me medication or IV in the ER.

I think what you're going thru is not unusual. Many women go thru it. It is much more severe for some of them. Don't worry, your health will pick up in the sec. trimester.

I'm sure you'll feel better if you speak to your doc about your symptoms. In the meanwhile just eat whatever you can hold down - just fruits, raw veggies - anything you can handle.
