Due Date Club August 2008:Antenatal Classes
2008-05-16

I was wondering, y none of us till wrote anything about antenatal classes organised by the hospitals for the mums, especially the first timers. I wanted ot know if an of u ladies are already going for it? They take place in which month? are expectant fathers suppose to attend them too? How many sessions are they? what exactly are they? are they worth going for?
Please let me know as i don' t want to miss them, if they are that helpful for the delivery to come.

hi dolly,

I have booked myself for antenatal classes. They are starting from next month(when i shall be 32 weeks to be precise) My husband will attend it too with me.. my gynac had adviced me to do these classes.. Mine is a 1 week course. i heard they are fun plus very helpful n informative specialy for first time moms-to-be..
Antenatal classes aim to prepare u for labour n childbirth.. they will teach u relaxation techniques, massage skills, breathing techniques, pain relef choices, breastfeeding, different excercises etc..
In my opinion its worth doing these classes.

Thanks Aloika and Tejal for giving ur opinion about the antenatal classes.
Tejal, please give contact details of them, as i would like to go for crash course, my husband will be there for a week in Bombay and i can arrange on day crash course with him that time.
Also, my parens stay in borivali, so my husband will have to drive me to Dadar, which is quite far.
Let me know if ther eare any other around borivali, that u know of.
