My baby is 19 months old. Can some one give good snack ideas for playschool. Also she is still taking lactogen. I really don' t know how to pack this to her playschool. Any ideas would be appreciated.

hi anu,

my child too will start playgroup this month. he is 21 months now.

i plan to give the following to him, def dry items right now as he doesnt really eat much on his own :

1) parathas in pieces
2) fav biscuits
3) idlis / dosas in pieces
4) sheera / upma in small ball forms
5) veg cutlets
6) small purees & papad

if you have some more suggestions, please let me know also.

Hi. Fruits at snack time are the healthiest option and also a good way to get children started on eating fruits regularly. Bananas are easy to eat and highly nutritious. You can even cut up the banana and dribble some honey on it. It tastes delicious. If you have some time, make a fruit salad or send a small bottle of mango milkshake along with the regular water. Other nutritous, heathy snacks include upma, idli with ghee and sugar, cereals like chocos and for older children, carrot and cucumber juliennes with a yoghurt dip. Dont send chips or aerated drinks.
