I had my sonogram this week and the doctor said placenta is near the cervix. how much of a problem is this? he said most often the placenta migrates to the top , but anyway he willl monitor in 8 weeks....
I am very much worried. Has anyone experienced this ?

I have been reading a lot from books given by the doctor and online..if u are still in the 20-24 weeks or less don't get worried...placenta will rise eventually..exact words i have found were \";If an early ultrasound shows the placenta near, or covering the cervix, don't be alarmed . As the uterus grows, it naturally pulls the placenta away from the cervix\"; .have read forums on sites where pregnant ladies found the placenta low early months and by the 28th week rises up...general symptoms were bleeding/spotting in most of the cases...just relax and don't get tensed a lot...i am sure u will be fine and baby is doing well too. I know the thought of ur baby's health will be nagging u thats unavoidable , but try to divert ur mind and trust in God. I am sure u will be fine by the end of the month..Take care. keep smiling.
