Due Date Club December 2004:baby things

Name: mom

Hi all,

I use baby soap, baby oil, baby shampoo and baby detergent for my baby. When can I stop all these baby items and start using adult things? Can I apply coconut oil is on babys head? Do I need to heat it? How many times oil massage and bath(forhead) would you all do. My little girl has very less hair. She still looks like a boy..I am worried. Can I anything to improve her hair growth?

Thanks in advance
mom

hi mom,

i massage my daughter with j&j baby oil before shower. I also put that oil in her hair. not sure about when to stop baby things, may be once they become toddler?? ya like shikha mentioned if u want u can do mundan and hair grow will be fast. My baby's hair was less too, we haven't done mundan, but i think because of applying oil to her hair, it grew. It was same case with my daughter, but as they grow they'll look beautiful....don't worry.

tina :)

Dear Mom

I use adult detergent and coconut oil for my son. But I continue to use baby soap and shampoo. Am planning to switch to adult soap and shampoo after 2 years. I give him a bath daily. Today I give him oil bath by applying coconut oil to his hair and tomorrow I give him head bath without any oil, which means I give him oil massage on alternate days. The routine is like that. His hair was very very less when he was born. Now also its less but has started growing. I can see the improvement. As shikha says, it will grow after you shave the head. American babies are like that. Most of them don't have hair until they are 1 year old.
I heat coconut oil in a kadai and when its heated I put a spoon of cumin seeds and then switch off the stove. I preserve this oil for a month and use it for his head and body.

Take care

Hi There!

Don't worry as every baby look almost alike when they are too small. As your daughter grows she will be a beautiful girl like you. For hair, after you get her mundan done the growth of hair will be faster. You may apply the same oil that you use for your scalp. I am using mustard oil for my daughter.

Take care and luv to ur daughter.

Shikha
