i'm planning for TTC from this december.so,i have started taking folic acid capsules from last one month. i have not thought of preconception check up yet.archie,can u plz tell me if it is really important to go for a preconsumption check up or can i have a safe conception & pregnancy even without it.plz reply so that i can act according to ur advice.thanks in advance

taking folic acid around 1 mg per day is fine during ttc and in first triemster once conceived.

you can choose to go through preconception or not as it's not mandatory. But be prepared as it might take you 6 months to a year to get pregnant and your upsetness, stress is going to work against the process. Same hold true for your spouse as well. Enjoy intimacy and levae the rest to God to decide on when to offer you with child:-)

Just like you,I to am in this TTC stage.Even I'm little perplexed whether to consult a doctor or not.But I consulted on of my friend,who allready has 2 beautiful daughters.She told me,it is not necessary to consult any doctor,however just for ur safety n well being or let me put it this way,Because this issue is too personal u cannot discuss it with ur parents or inlaws,so if you want any guidance and advise you should consult a doctor.This is what she told.Even I thought of taking folic acid supplement,but she told me it is not necessary.SSo Idropped the idea of taking it.However if you are taking it would be better to consult a doctor and discuss things with her.
