Hi Prisha

I also think 18 months is little early to potty train. It is not that you cant train but it would be time consuming and very stressful for you and baby too. I have heard similar thoughts from many experienced moms to start potty training after 24 – 26 months.

At this age you might want to show her potty training DVDs, and let hr play with potty chair. DVDs are very interesting and she will surely enjoy it. Also no need to buy them you can get it in public libraries. I got 5 DVDs recently and my daughter loves watching them ( Few DVD names - I gotta go, Potty Power, I can go potty, Once upon a potty etc.)

So please relax for few more months and do not stress yourself and lil one too. Believe me going to potty is stressful for lil kids, I have seen kids being potty trained in my daughter’s daycare. So let her be at least 24 months, you will save your and lil ones time as well as efforts.

Enjoy,
Suchie

I have faced similar situation with my dd.. What I do is that I make her sit on the potty atleast 1-2 times a day, not when she wants to poo/pee, but just like that.. I make her sit and we play with some toys, basically distracting her from the fear.. When she sits there, I explain her the purpose of the potty seat and ask her if she wants to do poop/pee.. Then when she wants to get out, I dont resist and simply take her down.. I have been doing this continuosly for some 10 days now, and now she sits on the potty w/o any problems for atleast 10/15 mins, earlier she wont sit there for more than 2 mins. But even though she sits on the seat, she doesnt want to poop there.. So I make her stand with diaper in the bathroom when she wants to poop.. I am taking baby steps, but am definitely seeing lot of improvement. She is now not scared of the potty seat and she knows when she is having a poop/pee and tells me.. I know this will take time as compared to if I try when she turns 2.. But I have time, and I dont mind giving it a try.. The key is to take baby steps and doing this continuously. If it doesnt work, then will stop it in some days and will start after couple of months.. But as of now I am seeing improvement. Hope this helps..

18 months is too early to start pooty training. Give her some more time. My daughter is 2.5 months old and she started using the pooty when she turned 2.3 months.Believe me i never trained her and did not put any effort. she did it herself. she became more matured to tell us that she wants to go to potty.

so i would suggest u to realax and let her also realax as she still a baby. try to start after she turns 2. Instead of struggling now u can train her after her second birthday very easily as theu understand what we tell them.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
