Hi Smile,
Your way of teaching through magnetic alphabets to Savir is wonderful.Could you please let me know where can I buy these magnetic alphabets?I have a 14 months old son.He understands most of the things what i say.Just thought of teaching him something. He is a good kid but meal time is a battle field. No interest for eating just milk.Friends and Docs say not to force.I didn't force him for three days and he was happy..not hungry.Whenever I try to put something in his mouth he closes it so tightly that nobody will able to open it.I tried many things during meal time(like distracting him, taking him to the park, playing music, singing, giving him interesting things, many more)but all my effort just went in vain...everytime he just outsmarts us.Now both of us (me and my hubby)are getting frustrated.
Do you have any idea how to handle a picky eater?
Please answer.
Thanks in advance and lots of love to Savir
Love

Hi there,
I got these magnetic alphabets from dollar store. After that I saw that in walmart too. It doesn't cost much. First they like to play with it. Savir still puts it under the fridge or hides it under the couch. But still he learnt and is now recognising all the alphabets and numbers as well.
Regarding food even Savir is like that just that he spits if he doesn't want food. But when I put his favorite DVD, he eats pretty good. Sometimes I cut fruits and boiled vegetables and put it in a cup and tell him that I am keeping the cup on the coffee table. I won't ask him or force him to eat. But he would come running and start eating and once he is done he would ask some more or he keeps the cup on the kitchen counter. As your friends and doc suggested don't force him, you can make pieces of rotis or bread and put it on the the table or if he has a high chair put him on that and try giving him in his hand. He would love to be independent. Kids like variety, don't give him rice or roti every day, try something different. YOu can give him soup, if he likes curd give that often along with other food. Savir would eat anything with curd.
Today I gave him bread and omelette for lunch. If you son likes dosa/idli give that with cheese. Or you can give roti soaked in milk and sugar. Good luck.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
