Hi girls,
Have u all done with your 1hr. Glucose screening Test ? I took mine last Sat.My doc called home y'day night to tell me that my blood sugar is high.I've passed the test but am on the border.Am confused as to what diet to follow to control sugar level.Am worried too. Please help me.

Is it true that if u have Impaired GT during pregnancy , then chances of developing diabetes later in life is higher?

Hi girls,
Thanks for responding.
I had my appt y'day.Doc told me my reading was 135 after the one hr. test. She thinks it is not necessary for me to go for 3 hr. test.I just have to take care of my diet. She will order one more one hr.glucose screening test around 34 weeks to see if everything is ok.

I have developed it during 25 week. My dr said many women developed during preg. I knew it because my sister developed during her preg and both my parents are diabetec. My dr said placenta produces some hormone which can cause to suger rise. I am having twins and have two placenta. Also I am on bed rest so can't do exercise.
First they have put me on diet which made me sick and lost two pound in one week. After that my sugar was not in control so they started insulin and i could control with diet and insulin after that.
so far no other problem.

Hi,
Even I have diabetes. Don't eat rice and go for a walk. Your doc will give u meal plan better follow that. One good thing about GDM is we know our chances are high, So, we have maintane our weigth and walk for life.

Hi kavitha!

no worry. my sister had sugar during pregnancy. her son is 10 yrs now and she is normal till date. the doctors said it may rise during pregnancy and will be normal after delivery. nothing to do with the diabetes in later life with the sugar during pregnancy. have plenty of water and go for a long walk. that is enough.

You can drink water but after one day of your delivery and it would be said by doctors also. You have to take care at that moment because after delivery of baby you would have lot of pain.... - Roja [View Message]

Hi Sheel,
Why do you think in such way doctors would take care of you also.So it is better you do not take any tensions for that which would be better for you only.I hope you would do that.... - Megha [View Message]

Hi Sheel,
You can take water there would not be any problem also. And it would be better you do normal instead of operation.Even you can walk freely by evening if it is normal.... - Mala [View Message]
