I have heard that down syndrom and other defects can be checked through blood test. They take a sample of blood from mother to be and test for various things one of being been down syndrom.

Subject:  US for down syndrom

hi, i am also due in dec. with my firsst which was 6 years ago they did not offer that. this time i am going for scan since i am 33 yeass old. however these scans are not 100% accurate, so if somebody have positive result that does not mean you going to have a child with down syndrom. it will be good to see how baby is doing because we are not going to have US before 20 or 22 weeks.for me i going to have a baby anyway. i can not advise you but there are many cases where people got positive result and had normal baby and some cases other was around.decide yourself what you guys want to do.BTWhat is your due date?
hope this helps.

hi
My son also had the same problem his legs used to shiver my doc said it is due to calcium defieciency b.coz I was calcium deficient. She gave him a tonic for 2 mnths it cured after that. The reason why ur baby' s leg is shivering may be this. Plz contact ur doc and take necessary steps as soon as possible.... - Sahila Gupta [View Message]
Help for your sis in NJ
Ravs, your ideas are out of date, since your sis is in NJ she should join a good prenatal class [Lamaze, Bradley etc] and get updated information, also her physician will guide her on diet and her self care please don' t give her advise based on the info in this mail of yours. Breastfeeding support is also available.... - Sameera [View Message]

Not to worry
If you want a normal delivery, ask your doc first to try vaginal delivery if not then go for forceps delivery where baby can taken out with the help of tongs...
