Day Care Center Bangalore - Be Aware - Nurseries and Schools Discussion Forum

Dear Parents,

Please be aware and careful of a day care center in Bangalore called Baby' s Day Out.This is located in Basvanagar near HAL Helicopter Division.

I was cheated, with a sugar coated smile while dropping the child there. I was betrayed when i had to hear from my son that the same lady whom he used to call Paatti(Grandma) beat him on his head and shoulders for passing motion due to a bad stomach. I was shocked when the creche owner covered up the whole incident.

Let me recap. The day the incident happened, my husband picked up the child in the evening, the creche owner was about to complain to him like, Â´ you know what your child did today?Â´ When my husband insisted on knowing, she said it is between my child and Â´ PattiÂ´ . But my husband noticed the terrified look in some of the maids face. Later when my husband asked my child, he narrated what happened.

We pulled out our child the next day itself, but did not speak with her, knowing very well how vehemently she will deny it and than I posted this incident in this website. 10 days after the incident and seeing this posting, she called up my husband and told, Â´ sorry for whatever has happened to you and your child, stop hurting meÂ´ Now I read this as Â´ stop hurting my businessÂ´ . As the call came after I started posting the incident in this site. Now, if she is innocent, why did she apologise and let her son speak to my husband to Â´ adviseÂ´ my husband that \" kids some times lie and we as a parent need to take it with a pinch of salt.\"

I as a parent do not want any child to go through what my son has gone through. It hurts all the more when it is from some one on whom we used to have lots of trust and respect. Anyway, Rashmi ...just a small correction to your email about finances. Not every kids pays 3k because there are different rates for half-day and full-day. My son goes for half day and the rate is also half.
I have no comment on your vehemence anymore. I have already shared my good opinion of the creche in this forum. You seem to have reached a stage where reason is not working. This person, Rashmi has not paid up a single penny of fee for the last 17 months. makes me wonder, what better way to not pay up and leave.

she was treated like a daughter by Patti, i challenge her to refute that.
Patti has done so much for her and her family. can one incident change a relationship like this?

you are being absolutely ungrateful, this is not how someone should treat a person who' s taken care of your child for 3 long years.

very sad our society is coming to this.

Business plans gone sour?

I heard that Rashmi was interested in setting up a joint business with Aunty, which didnt work out. She planned to start a pre-school and summer camp.

I was involved in lots of ´ business talks´ with the owner of the creche! She has checked as to what money needs to be collected from parents. She has checked with me as to how to run a pre-school, wanted to start of the endeavor with my child as the first one. Opinions were always asked for and given free of cost. The day care facility to my child was NOT FREE. I was paying Rs.3000 each per month. Off late, (probably for the last one year) we were paying 1500 as a discounted amount as our financials were not that good. They thought it was okay as we have brought in many parents who have spoken to me and to my husband seeing the previous message in Indiaparenting. Where as she collects 3000 to 3500 approx per month from other kids. She has told that there is some one from whom she does not take a single penny as they are ´ family friends´ . There were around 25 kids at one time in an approx 1500 sqft area - two houses on both the sides of the road. We were almost decided on putting the child in HER pre-school, not OUR pre-school and the fee was decided by her as around 4000. She has taken ideas, suggestions from us from day one. We have never discussed on being business partners and this ´ anonymous´ persons allegations clearly indicates the motive behind the so called ´ business talk´ After all its all about money for them and NOT the pain that my family has gone through due to her greed. Just calculate, around 25 kids @ 3000 per month - 75k per month, it will definitely hurt the business. Does not matter to them even if it means going out to any extend to protect the business even by making me a ´ partner to be´ .

Let me ask to anonymous - how do you know that I was to be a business partner? Check the facts and make allegations otherwise, God will not forgive you. One must realise that what ever one gains with somebody else´ s blood on it is not to stay. Think over.

Yes there is more to the story

Hi Lakshmi,

How sure are you that it is 17 months and not 18??? Are you managing the accounts for this creche??? My reply to the anonymous mail on 2nd May will help you with your accounting if you are managing the financials for her.

Here, I will never deny the fact that we treated each other pretty decently. She has given us discount on the fee, but we have spoken to lots of parents encouraging them to put their baby´ s in the creche. She has taken care of the child beyond 6pm (this she does it for other kids as well) and we have taken her out for her personal work. That is becoz we feel for a 50+ year old lady when she tells two of her sons and daughter in laws are too busy to take her out for her personal work.

So, it was definitely a definitely a good relationship that we had. We promoted the creche as we were convinced about it. But, when we came to know that my child was beaten on his head and shoulder for doing potti in his pants was the day when the relationship went sour. She had no right to do that. Forget all the relationships, just consider she is a service provided who takes money for her service. That is all I am trying to say. She has to be sorry for what she did, and not try stunts like asking all the family and friends to vehemently deny and make false allegations about me. My son refuses to talk about this lady now, he even refused to get into the lane where the creche is located.

Lakshmi, you are worried about the society, but for a moment, why don´ t you place your child in the same scenario if you are a mother and if you do not have the fortune of having your parents/ parents-in-laws to take care of your child and being forced to put your child in a day care to be treated so shably.
