Hi Archie,

After delivering Pranav in Jan 2005, i had taken Provera Shots from Jul 2005. I hadnt got a period till then and after the shot, i used to get minor spottin but nothing else. Now the last shot i took was in jan 2006. Till y'day (6 months +) i hadnt got the AF. Y'day i had mild spotting which stopped by noon.

Should i consider this as the start of periods? Since we are planning to stay away from hormonal pills for contraception, we plan to follow safe period method. My doc is not too helpful as she keeps saying wait for the full cycle etc.

Provera and the earlier pills used to make me very cranky and lead to severe loss of libido. I dont want to be on hormones again.

Pl advice.

Padma,
you should indeed wait for a real healthy cycle not like spotting that lasts for a day or less than that. Do not take any pills and hopeful that you have weaned your baby by now. If so you can expect menses to appear anytime in coming weeks and lets start from there.

I am not a strong believer of SAFE DAY method. Just because there isn't really safe timing and especially with somewhat or indeed irregular cycles.

you have to start on BCP or use condom, latter isn't the best either.

Before going for any procedure check the details about the clinic first. check out their website. check their links. Then make their way to there.
