Hello everybody,

I had my ultrasound today afternoon. We saw the baby!! The technician checked all parts and said baby is doing fine, its weight is normal and there's no change in my due date. It is December 11th as before. She gave me 3 pictures to take home: picture of baby profile, baby making a fist, and baby toes!!.

But, the somewhat sad thing is, baby did not cooperate with us so that we could find out its gender. It kept its legs crossed throughout the entire ultrasound. The technician tried a lot shaking my belly, but it didn't work. She asked me to empty my bladder, but even that didn't work out. She said we'll wait for a few minutes and see if the baby moves. We waited for around 7 to 8 mins and did the ultrasound again. But nopes, baby continued to put one of its leg over other :)The technician asked me to sit with the hope that she might be able to figure out the gender while I was in sitting position. Even that didn't work out... I think the baby is happily sleeping with its legs crossed and it is not bothered to wake up and move to show us its genitals :) The technician said \"; I tried my best, but couldn't figure out. Better luck next time incase if you will have second ultrasound\";.

When everything is done and while I was about to leave, the technician said\"; I really don't know what will be gender of the baby...I am literally guessing and I could be wrong...if you want to know then I'll tell you my guess\";. I asked her to go-ahead. She said\"; I am guessing it could be a girl as I didn't see anything sticking out between the legs. But, I am really not sure\";.

This is my first ultrasound experience girls!! I am happy that baby is doing fine and we are prepared for both girl or boy :)

Second time moms, I have a question to all of you. From what the technician said, what can you comment about the baby's sex? Will it be a cute little princess or do I have to wait for the surprise for 5 more months :)

guess the baby wants to keep mom and dad in suspense for soem more time ..!!

actually i am not sure abt what the techie said, but generally they do say that finding out it is aboy is easy than a girl and more acurate because of the visibility of the genitals ... so u never know ..!!

Even I am waiting for my u/s just hope my baby is awake and we can find out the gender.

If u r slated for one more u/s during ur 34th week u cud know the sex, but this way 'not knowing' is also fun.

Good to hear that everything is going well and u saw ur little angle.u can find out baby gender in ur next u/s.
even during my u/s my baby was also sleeping but we could find out the sex of the baby.But the main thing is development which is going on well and on schedule.

you may get another ultrasound in or around 34 weeks gestation and drink cold water 10 minutes before ultrasound to get baby active.

What u can do is have something sweet before u go for the ultraosound, this makes the baby hyper and baby would cooperate :) eat somthing sweet or drink a glass of orange juice kinds before u go for the ultrasound next time :))

It's so nice to read abt ur USG update :) Wow, so u cud see ur tiny angel sleeping carelessly without any fears :) that moment must be amazing !!
Dnt wry, better luck next time, n u can find out the sex of the baby, in my case too it happened,though the baby was active but my doc cudnt find out the sex of the baby,however we want it to b a surprise, my doc also said the same that it might b a baby gal :)
