Due Date Club December 2006:Can Excess Fruits increase the glucose level?
2006-07-14
Name: P

Hi All,
Iam more of a silent reader of this forum which solves most of my general queries. This is my fifth month now. I have a query regarding eating fruits. Can eatuing excess fruits increase the glucose level, since fruits also have lot of sweet inside them. Is there any limitation about how many fruits/servings should one take in a day for fruits. Iam asking this because i generally take 2-4 types of fruits everyday when in office, since thats the best way to kill hunger in a healthy way. A collegue of mine who is also pregnanct had her glucose level high. she feels it is due to excess fruits.
Can anyone clarify this?

Thanks,
P

hey,

i asked my doc yesterday , she said that fruits is good kind of sugar and there is absolutely no need to worry ..

she said we need to minimize our intake of desserts and other sweet stuff, she also said that fruit juices might not be as good as the fruit since sugar can be added to it, so she recommended having fresh juice with no added sugar ...

hope this info helps u :)

Hi P,

A friend of mine had lots of fruits in her pregnancy, and she got gestational diabetes, so then her dr asked her to stop taking fruits and it got controlled. So she told me to limit my fruits intake. But i guess it does depend on body type as well, but yeah it will be a good idea to ask your dr!!

Take care
poochy
