How old will your daughter be in June, Gauri ? all depends on that and the kind of play school u have selected
My daughter will be 2 in July.. I' m enrolling her in a play school this june. She will spend 2.5 hrs there.. I have taken her to the school a few times.. she seemed to enjoy it.. was very excited.. didnt want to come back (hope the same continues when she has to go there everyday :)
Since both of us work she is with the maid all day.. and though the maid is good I think she gets a little bored now that she is older.. so I think it will be good for her to spend a few hrs in her pre school.. and then she' ll come home have lunch and sleep... by the time she wakes up in the evening and has her snack and all that I' ll be home.. so she may not miss us much...
However if I find that she is not enjoying her pre school then I' ll pull her out and enroll her again next year..
I dont think there will be any pressure or stress on the child if u select the right school... most of them dont \" teach\" them anything in the true sense untill they r over 3.. at this age they just play with other kids.. and ya eat on their own.. potty training etc..

dont think too much.. enroll her in a school.. after a month or so u' ll know if she is enjoying it or not.. if she seems unhappy u can always discontinue and try again in october or next june... at most your MIL might say, u sent her baby to school too early ) but hey .. I' m sure you have ignored much worse than that...
It' ll also be good for your daughter to get away from the pampering a bit...

thnks for your rply, i am thinking 50 - 50 of both like hello n pushpanjali but hello i liked what you said about potty traning and food habits, i have problem with my duaghter when i am at home she is fine , when i take my daughter to rest she eats properly you wont believe she can eat like grown ups with fork and spoon , but wehn i am not around she will sleep on my mils lap n eat , she does potty also on my mils lap
but at the same time i feel guilty as pushpanjali said i dont want to put her in school so soon
lets see will keep you posted about my final decision

i am a mother of 2 kids 5 and 3. the first child i sent to a montissori at the age of 2.6mts. I sent him due to reall fear and ansity. the fear that he should not lag behind other kids.
the second child i did not sent her to any regular school except that she attend a very small play home very near to our home for an hour.

the reason i would say is i felt a child would learn all that he learnt in the moti in his regular school for the next 3 years.

My sugestion is put the child in a small friendly school( not the brabded ones) for 1 or two hours just for the child to socialise with the other kids, be happy and very little of learning too. it helps in potty traing and the food habits too. they r happy for just an hour or so.age woud be 2.8mts.

RE:What Toddlers Should Be Learning?
Toddlers are at a crucial stage of learning, where foundational skills for life are being developed. At Skillmatics, we believe toddlers should be learning cognitive abilities like problem-solving, memory building, and recognition of shapes, colors, and patterns. Language development, motor skills, and social-emotional growth are equally important during these years.
