Due Date Club July 2005:Hi Sheetal and Priya

Hi Sheetal,
I haven't started potty training Arjun. I am taking my own sweet time. I have heard that once kids turn two, its very easy to potty train them, most of my friends did that in just couple of weeks and their kids initiated this process rather than them. So I am hoping one day Arjun will come to me and say that mom I hate diapers or may be I am just a lazy person who just let things take its own course.
have you heard of potty training in a day - you could try that once Anu is a bit older, if you want. I have seen people having success with that one. How is Anushka by the way? Is she a quiet person or a naughty one?

Arjun is climbing down the stairs nowadays all on his own. i don't remember teaching him that, guess he just learnt by observing. Also he surprised us by drinking those sesame street juices with the straw that comes with it. So hopefully he will potty train himself too:)
I am at home nowadays so typing all these lengthy messages when Arjun naps:).
Priya,
How is your pregnancy coming along? hey, you mentioned Dylan going to little gym, How is the little gym program for toddlers, does Dylan enjoy it?

I am planning to quit my job but just keep postponing it or rather stretching it. May be after the India trip, I would for sure. I had enough of working and am in desperate need of a break. So am thinking enrolling Arjun in any such programs so that he will not get bored by being at home all the time.

Hi Arti
Good to know Arjun is feeling better. I think i will wait till 18 months also for training because then the kids talk more and understand better. Too early and they get scared and wont go on potty till 3-4 years like my nephew :)
Dylan really like Little gym they do many activbities every week is different they start of with songs and belss all kids play bells while they o the introduction song then they move on to some theme they have that weelk like parachute play or inflatable bouncer then they play in the gym and instructor shows some ways we canplay with kids like balance bars trampeze etc and then finish with playing with balls and bubbles.
He loves it and has become more interactive with kids he says many words also like today he is saying batata for potato all day.
you can go on a site named mommy and me to see activities in your area what you cn do with Arjun

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

HI Gayathri,

I used the puzzles, the wooden blocks for alphabets and numbers.... - Sheetal [View Message]
try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
