Hetal replied. Hi manju,
the simplest answer,, ,,any citrus is said to give irritation to esophageal passge..
this passge becomes extremly tender or to say sore,,during repeated episodes of vomittng.,,in that offering these citrus might lead to heartburn or extremly sour vomits that might further irritate your baby throats.and may cause dry cough or sore throat in later stage even after recovery from vomitng...
these fruits are rich in citric acid, vit c (ascorbic acid),,which adds to acid levels in stomach(which are high mostly during vomitng and nausea).thus giving acidity or heartbun,,,..other foods having similar type of effect are spices,,,and also acidic foods like tomatos, chillies,,or even grapefruit.
the sourness & sharpness of taste of ne citrus fruit dpends on % of fruit acids and ascorbic acid present in it. these levels are comp low in this particular variety of citrus name sweet orange or malta orange or sweet lime(mostly in US),,which gives it a tag of being \" SWEET\" ER thn the other citrus fruits...
there is only one case where the citrus like sweet lime/sweet orange or mosambi juice is allowed to give or rather suggsted by dr, which is when vomitting is due to indgstion and your dr is sure of the symptm........
mosambi/malta orange or sweet lime, is widely used as carminative tonic in almost all the ayurvedic treatments & as a strong suggstn from drs esp in India,,whn its associated with gastric and indigestion problems.(carminative tonic is the aid that settles the digestive system, and releases gas from the intestines)...
thats y you will also find that many cultures in india have been offering mosambi juice to infants suffering from colic and gas/instead of gripe water.. during thr first 3months of life !! but you will not observe ne culture offering ne other citruses to infants....the dosage to infants is just 1/2tsp mixed with water or couple drops of mosambi juice without diluting with water,,in middle of the day when sun is high in sky i.e. mid noon !!
and if your child felt energtic or like you said felt fresh with this juice, is because he was having probs related to digestion and this relvd him or so to say might have also helped him to recover faster...
most kids have normal vomtng issues mostly because of digestion probs wherein reasons are pretty much routine...this could be because of overstimulatn or overexcitment or hyperactive play just after meals, overfeeding or not chewing food properly,,or just a simple case wherein toddlers being in first years do not have mature digestives that are good enough to absorb all the nutrnts that thr body takes,,even though they might have acceptd it succssfully.....
acceptance of solids is not only determined by allergy issues/tolerance levels,,,, but also is determined by the percentage of nutrients his body was able to absorb from that particular food !!!! mst kids are not able to absorb 100% of it, until 2 yrs of age which explains thr issues with stomach upset, skippng meals, feel heavy on stomach, gas,or indigestn or irregular bowels...!!
the other severe causes of vomitng might be viral infections or stomach flu,,wherein vomitng comes alongwith temperrature or loose motions with extrmly bad smell or a sudden fasting or lack of apetite in couple days resultng in considrble wght loss.
therefore,,,for the most causes of vomitngs or nausea or ne unknown cause of vomitngs or nausea,, ne food that causes irritation or increases acidity in stomach has to be avoided atleast until the stomach digestives are settled..
so, this is the reason i know,,and hope this explains !
take care, love to adi...

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
