Breastfeeding:Breastfeeding personal experienced advice needed

Name: Movmil (Mrs)

i read that the most important part and link between a child and mother (and of course father) is mother's breast feeding and that is why most of the religions I understand have emphasised mothers breast feeding rather than formula milk. Some decades there had been a miss conception that mothers breast feeding loose their natural breast beauty. It may be true but Science has now proved that breast feeding is more important as it creates a permanent bond of love between mother and child, a natural love and builds the child stronger. Science has now that mothers who breast feed have less chance of cancer. Children grown up on mother's milk care much for old parents.

The aspect I am confused is the best way for feeding. Reading different articles some say best natural link between a child and mother is if mother has her breast fully open, child is milking and his/her tiny hand is on the breast which creates a natural electric current affection to mother and child. Some suggest mother must be holding the breast rather than child.

Can any one suggest me any good book showing the photographic postures the mother should be sitting or lying on bed or on one side or how and in what position best to feed. I will welcome any such book which shows photos or any web site where i can read and see the photographs of best way of mother feeding.

It is now 6 week I will be first time a mom. Also pray I deliver healthy baby. I shall be obliged of any advice as I look forward to eagerly see myself a loving mother of a loving child.

Ask to breastfeed your baby as soon as after birth .. preferably within one hour . Inform the nurse/doctor of your intention so that they give you the baby to bf before they take it for cleaning and other things. And yes please NO BOTTLES for 6 weeks.

HI Movmil.

search for some link son breastfeeding on the internet. You will dfind info about postures and pictures.

One string advice I want to give(being a mom myself) is - I feel happy that you feel so stringly feel about breastfeeding.
but when you deliver the baby, DONT LET anybody give a bottle to baby. sometimes this happens in hospitals as mother;s milk comes one or two days after delivery. so discuss the options with your doc and the hospital where you are going to deliver. may be they can use a spoon till u get milk.
but never give bottle to baby first.
they will have nipple confusion and it will be very difficult later on to get them to latch on(I had this experience).
this is something that most first time moms dont know about. the things that can happen in the hospital. nurses sometimes give bottles to babies and so much problem later on for babies and mom.

good luck and take care.
mom

RE:Adult breast feeding
I was not breastfeed in my childhood hence the idea of sucking and feeding from a woman's full, engorged breasts has infatuated me. It is a fantasy that drives me wild like nothing else, just the thought of laying my head in a woman's lap while she brings her swollen nipples to my mouth. Ideally, I'd like to finally explore this with the right female. If you are in or near... - Sanjayhyd [View Message]
