Health Issues:fussy baby while feeding..very worried mom

Hi all,
I have a 5 week old baby. She cries a lot especially during night time.Earlier she had some gas but these days she doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort.she just keeps crying. And she just can't go to sleep at night. She stays awake for hoursand cries most of the time or feeds. Is it ok to use a pacifier.
Sometimes she used to be fussy while feedings. For the past two days she has been very fussy during feedings. She gets very aggressive at the breast and tries to take the nipple in her mouth but leaves it again and again and keeps crying. Also even during feeding she keeps spitting out milk. She was earlier good at breastfeeding. She has been gaining weight alright.
Also, she has some spitting problem. She spits out some milk almost after every feed. This has also increased during the past few days.
She has also developed some tiny red dots on her face neck and chest which the doc thinks are either acne or heat rashes.
Has any one experienced such things?I am a very panicky mom and not sure if the baby is ok.Everytime i take her to the doc the doc says she is just fine. Can anyone help.I am really worried.

did u say yr child was spitting. check with yr doctor for issues like reflux inc young infants, lactose intolerance, milk allergies. Gripe water in cases of reflux and intolerance does more harm than good. Believe me relfux if left untreated, could cause inflammation of the esophagus of the baby and spit-up liquids may enterlungs to cause wheezing and asthma. please talk to yr pediatrician and meet up with a pediatric GI as soon as u can.

Subject:  Fussy Eater

It's nice to hear I'm not the only one with a fussy nurser. I had been so discouraged and panicy that I almost quit nursing. My daughter has been a fussy nurser, a spitter and a poor sleeper from the very beginning. I've found (through trial and error) almost 4 months later that she is just a very fast eater and I had been overfeeding her (my first baby took forever to nurse). She will continue to eat and eat but she will break off and fuss the entire feeding. When her break offs become very close together I know she needs to burp and she is usually done. If I feed her too much she spits up. I used to think I had to replace the milk she just spit up so I'd put her back on the breast but she would just spit more up. I just decided to feed her for less time and stretch the time in between feedings. She became much happier and slept much better.
Looking back I think she was a big spitter because I was always feeding her too much and/or too often and then she would have an upset tummy and would not be able to fall asleep or stay asleep. Gripe water did work and still does if she overeats.
Also both my babies would continue to eat even if they were full and had sore tummies because the breast was so comforting, but I found that if they wanted to nurse less than 2 hours after I had finished feeding the crying was something other than hunger.

hi shub
if u r using johnson's baby oil pls immediately stop it. it causes those red spots.it used to happen to my baby girl too.but now since i have stopped using it, they have gone. u can use coconut oil instead. u can use cuticura powder. it is safe on baby skin too.
regarding the feeding, i think she is still colicee. try to offer her a bottle if she doesnt take the nipples.pacifiers r grt for these problems. even when the baby is full she simply keep some milk in her mouth and spits it or vomits. its not big deal. try all these.

Try giving Gripe Water to your child.. 1/2 spoon each in the morning and night, daily. She must be suffering from indigestion. Gripe Water solves many such problems.
For rashes baby powder is the best solution. Apply power nicely after each cleaning.

RE: Eczema concern
Hello,

I had a similar query a few months ago concerning eczema occuring in toddlers. As far as I know, it can be due to a varrying number of factors and common foods that end up causing the condition in 1-2 year old toddlers.

In my research I found this article really helpful in addressing the problem:
