First, not crawling, then not walking, and now not talking.
She is 15 months old and is not saying a single word. She keeps babblign like crazy. She mite say words that make no sense. But nothing like mummy, ball, or any proper words. Keeps pointing out to things and explain watever she wants that way. I pretend not to understand and coaxing her to say the word, but no, nothing.
Anyone in the same boat???

Arti replied. that whenever you use No mean it and don't overuse it otherwise it loses its meaning - may be you already know but just thought that would tell you in case.
Arti replied. Have patience:) I understand its easy to say then do. But ...
One thing which you can try doing is to slowly say all the words in front of her. Start with simple words and make sure that you are moving your lips very slowly so that she can see you. Do that and make sure she is looking at you when you do it.
For example when you are trying to teach car. Say caaaaaa ( open your mouth wide when you make caaaa sound ). You can say r afterwards or make r just silent for the time being. Repeat it 4-5 times or until she loses interest - everytime do it very slowly so that she can see your lip movements. Everytime you see a car instead of showing and saying car say caaaaa and see in a few attempts she will say caaa when she will see a car rather than pointing to it. Once she has learnt that, let her master the same syllaby by choosing words like bau&&&& for ball( again moving your lips very slowly) once she has mastered that move on the next syllby like u for bhu bhu, then eee for peas( pea..) etc.
She pretty sure is a very talented kid as you yourself might know but she might be finding it hard to leran this all by herself and need some help from you.
Try this and let me know how it goes.
If she can sign different things then thats really nice but sometimes, signing can delay speech development if your child becomes way too comfortable with it. so teach her language along with signs, example would be nodding your head sidewise and saying noooo simulatously.
The first word for Arjun was Ma and then No:) and enjoy being a kid and pretending that you are making lots of efforts in order to speak a word, taking pauses and all. and then let her take her time.
Sheeja replied. Hi, Im also in the same boat. Trisha knows all the things. She does shows actions for eechy bhchy spider, twinkle twinkle, old mac and many more songs. Even she shouts like dog or duck if she sees them in the st or pic.i sometimes surprise by seeing her brilliant behaviors.
But im not worried, coz we all know the universal truth 'every baby is differnt' but when it comes to us we feel lil uncomfortable.
I guess by end of 16th month we can see some differnce. Bcoz most of my friends babies talked around 17,18th month around.
So my hearty advice, not to worry. Let them take their own time in learning things. we cant push them to do things.
takecare all.Sheeja.
Smile replied. Hi there,
Same boat as well. Don't worry at least she tries to tell something in her way. THat means she will be talking soon. Savir is jsut like Anushka. He tries to tell everything but in his language. If he points out something and says in his language I would repeat it clearly. That helps. He can say thank you. But not very clear. Like wise I tried the word knee, he says dhee. DOn't ignore what she says but try to repeat it clearly. Good luck
Priya replied. If you have concerns consult your doctor on her 15th month appt.
In the meantime keep labelling things like items in the house repeat it a few time everyday, yuou'll see she will surprise you one day

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
