Hi all,

My son is now 20 months.he is active a boy and eating well , the thing is he is not talking properly, not yet calling me mama ,only he calls his father ba ..but we are teaching him to say papa but he is saying ba..if he sees some dogie going on the street he will say bhow bhow..he says bye bye...he understands all my commands,,and obeys also.He talks more in his language which we don' t understand..I am teaching him to say clear words, but he will be talking something which is not in clear.I talks to him more at home.Every day I take him to park he plays nicely, He likes to go out, One thing he watches micketymouse ,scooby doo and tom and jerry all in the laptops..that time he never listen to me..he will be enjoying these cartoons. Is this bad at this age..should I stop him to watch all these..Please suggest me..if anyone faces this type of problem. My husband is too much worry,so I am loosing my patience. Please please suggest me..that will be a great help to me..because we are now at US ..no one else is here apart from us..
Thank You..

Subject:  please avoid too much tv.........

Dear Smitha,
You certainly need to avoid the cartoons for long hours.B' coz watching too much tv will hamper the concentration power among kids, and it also affects their attention. If they watch tv for hours together they will start paying less attention to what we say and can' t even concentrate on anything for more than a few seconds. So please avoid tv first.
If you think he can' t do without tv,then there are some other ways of diverting him from tv.You can bring some very good cd' s which will be both fun and educative for the kid.You ' ve lot of options on the net itself.Search for cd' s which help in improving speech and verbal skills.Bring some charts with big pictures of vehicles, relations or actions and ask your son to repeat after you.
Don' t worry ,my kid learnt to speak after he turned 3.But ofcourse with a lot of effort from my side.So don' t panic and give your best.Good Luck.

Speech/language delay - 2.3 yr old boy
Hello Everyone

Our 28 months old boy is not speaking simple 2 or 3 word sentences yet. He speaks a few words such as mama, papa, aunty etc but definitely not more than 10. Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. Shoranur kerala samajam Ayurveda hospital review
Hi All,

My son is less than 4 and has been diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal. We are taking him for OT and ABA/speech therapy.

Meanwhile, I read about an Ayurvedic hospital called Kerala Samajam hospital in Shoranur. Has anyone gone there for treatment? Any reviews?

Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
