Hi Manju,
Don't react when Adi slaps. If you happen to catch him even before he slaps, say a firm No and distract him. If he has already slapped, don't react as if nothing happened, just move on and see if he forgets this new habbit. He is now learning how to express his feelings, so by slapping he is just saying that I am upset or not happy. You may want to teach him a sign to show that he is upset. Some people do that by pointing their thumbs down and asking the kid if they are upset at the same time. The poor kid can't speak that much to tell you that he is upset so he is using his hands. This is a passing phase so don't worry, once he'll have his own voice he will not use his hands.

Hi Manju,

I feel Arti advice is worthy. My son, shows his displeasure by crying and biting. For biting I just do the same to him (obviously with softness) so that he understood it pains when he do the same with us. I don't know whether what I am doing is right or wrong.

I am wondering if we can develop this thumb impression as ARti suggested, might be difficult thing.

I think your son must have seen slapping someone in babysitter and adopted it.

Lets try what Arti suggetsed and see the improevment.

Take care,
sudha

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
