Dear Sachi,

Can you provide little on your cycle detail so to make some suggestions.

Have you thought on using Ovulation Prediction Kit.

Those who like to troubleshoot fertility issue will come up, no matter whether they are in India or USA. What's common according to what I see is this, many time there are very little chances for fertility issues. It's that timing and state of mind, who is playing adverse effect while ttc. Know people gave up on this and got pregnant in very next cycle, amazing isn't it.

Good luck to you and hope you hit baby land soon.

Good to hear that u are scientist.. Sorry that u could not able to go for medical school.. BUt u are doing a good job by sharing ur knowladge here..
Can I ask some more question.. will the clomid helpffull for the people who ovulate on their own.. is it not pose any problem for them to ovulate after leaving that..any other medicine to boost ovulation rather than clomid as I have heard clomid thins the utetine lining and dries the CM..I am little worried about these as I ovulate on my own.. But time is ticking for me.. I am going to be 28 soon and really wants things to be little faster but also worried if it poses any long term troubles..

Hi,
Unfortunately Clomid will do that what you said. Clomid is often used for those who meet difficulties to ovulate. I believe if you ovulate by yourself (hopefully you know this from OPK) then Clomid will help boosting chances of multiples by releasing more than one egg.

As far as age is considered, 28 is absolutely OK. Your fertility picks around 25 and you are not too far from that. I know people getting pregnant in their thirties.

Hope you hit baby land soon.

Hi Sachi,
Dr by title but not by profession. I am scientist, Microbiology and have Ph.D. Due to lack of economical support could not attend medical school. Alwasys wanted to be a OB/GYN and precisely work on infetility troubles.

You will be OK after Clomid.

Archie,I will keep in mind about ur suggestions. Little more to add,
there are the times when I bursts into tears even thought I know about this complex reproduction system..My husband has normal sperm count,no problem..He appreatiate me for taking all the initiatives (no one to guide in this foriegn country and knowing all through net)and going through all these procedures..(He was not agreed to go for sa initially)My husband is supportive in that way.. I have to make decisions about my teartemnt now..Last time after taking HCG injection last time I didnt ovulated and not yet got my period also.. So I need to take provera to bring back AF and then dont know after provera will I able to ovulate as before.. So I am in confusion now whether to take any ovulation medicne next timeas everything getting delayed by this time.. I am little afraid of clomid side affects.. Do u know any one taking clomid for IUI eventhough they used to ovulate before ..AFter going throught all this Archie I can tell that no one ,even my enemy should not get trapped into the fertility issue..

if u dont mind can I ask about u little.. were ur path to motherhood easy or difficult?

Hi Sachi,

Clomid is well known to induce ovulation. Only side effect that I know is may cause some depletion of your CM. Having known your husband with normal sperm count/motility, it should be OK.
It's recommended that first 2-3 cycles on clomid should not be considered for fertlizilation, it may be luck if you get fertilization or implantation, not necessarily in very first cycle you will hit success. This is why clomid challenge is done for about six cycles, time to time you should check your hormones when you are on Clomid. This will assure things are going alright or you need to discuss with Dr. for some possible help.

About me, have had terrible times with PMS. It was not easy though got in motherhood without medical help. This is a solitary reason I read more than I knew about reproductive system. I have been reading this subject since 15 years or so.
It's possible to get period without ovulation but not necessarily every period means ovulation did take place. It's also true that every ovulation must follow either by period or pregnancy. Ovulation = period but not always period = ovulation.

Sachi have faith. Things will be OK with you and you have supportive husband, this should make it little easy.

Best luck
Archie

Dear Sachi,

After reading your story I can tell you that you are going to sail this difficult boat with ease.

You being interested in subject makes it easy you to know technical details and help not missing an opportunity.

I truely understand failure of last IUI. Let me tell a little bit of IUI and failure:
Since released egg from ovary last only 12 hours IUI off this period are less likely to satisfy your need. This is a reason Dr. continue IUI for 6 cycles. This of course is an expensive method but definitely cheaper than IVF.

IUI is done in those who have difficulty in ovulation or partner found to have slow motile/low sperm count. In those cases IUI will result in grand success. If not then IVF is performed to challenge sperm to fertilize in otherwords to discover if partner has sperm that can fertilize egg.

Some time a normal couple also require IVF that's because internal environment/physiology makes conceiving difficult and IVF will help alleviate need of body physiology while conceiving.

Keep hope as you are now. If possible try to avoid bed before you detect ovulation test positive and sleeping after 12-18 hours would result in natural fertilization, if your husband has good sperm count and most of them are highly motile.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Subject:  Hi Archie

Hi,
Nice to hear from u.. I will tell about my cycle also and more background also.. SO pls bear with me :-)

I had a very good cycle (it was 30-31 days)before marriage.. and I had no complain about my cycle before that.. But after 5 months of marriage I noticed some change in my cycle and that was the time I thought of having baby also.. SO obiously I started worrying and went to one doctor she told about my prolactine level high and prescribed some medicine.. Then I also thought my problem solved .. But then after 5 months of taking that medicine and nothing happened.. I changed my doctor.. There they did all the exams and found out I am having hypothyroid due to immune factor.. So I started medicine for that..It itself took 6 months for them to regulate.. Bcoz the contry where I am staying ,,they are not so aggressive in their treatment.. But medical system is good as they take so much precautions.. But still I feel little slow in their approach..
I had HSG test also which showed clear tube.. So I thought after that I go for IUI.. SO last month i did IUI ..which failed abiously bcoz of timing.. I had a feeling that I ovulated one day before the procedure.. So that is confirmed later when I got my period that I ovulated before IUI.. I wanted to try for IUI in feb month also.. BUt this time I have not ovulated and still this cycle seems to be very long cycle.. I think I took HCG injection for last IUI so may be it messed up the whole thing.. Otherwise even though I have hypotyroid and taking tabulate I used to ovulate regularly( My cycle lenght after I started thyroid medice: 28-30) lenght ..(even if my TSH in between 10 to 13,I am sure I used ovulate as I used to take temperature that time and also used to have cervical mucus).. SO this time suddunly everything changed after taking HCG trigger for last IUI..So this is puzzling me ,
U know I was a science student (biology was one of my subject in PUC)and had interest in biology also and now when I read all this about fertility and all ,,I grasp very well and also can manuputlate very easily about these things.. EVen though I failed in all these..
U know I never failed in my life in anything before..(I am an Engineer and used to work also).. NOw life seems misrable for me as I am not able to have child.. But still I have not lost my hope.. I hope I get my wish soon before I completly loose my hope.. Thanx for asking about me.. I hope u enjoying ur way to parentwood..Good luck..
